Moved to a new server, and took the opportunity to change the look up (took me a while to find another WordPress theme that related to driving). Via Anne’s advice, I’ve already lightened the text somewhat for readability. She’d prefer a non-black background, but the changes to the stylesheet to accomplish that are not as trivial.

So, do you like it? Hate it? Needs improvement? Want the old look back? Let me know in the comments.

[Update] Survey said: [X]. I’ve reverted to the former theme, but will keep looking for more eye-friendly ones.

Haven’t had occasion to post any quotes for a while, but came across this while reading “The Brothers Karamzov” (spurred by something I heard on Easter).

Fear nothing and never be afraid; and don’t fret. If only your penitence fail not, God will forgive all. There is no sin, and there can be no sin on all the earth, which the Lord will not forgive to the truly repentant! Man cannot commit a sin so great as to exhaust the infinite love of God. Can there be a sin which could exceed the love of God? Think only of repentance, continual repentance, but dismiss fear altogether. Believe that God loves you as you cannot conceive; that He loves you with your sin, in your sin. It has been said of old that over one repentant sinner there is more joy in heaven than over ten righteous men. Go, and fear not. Be not bitter against men. Be not angry if you are wronged. [...] If you are penitent, you love. And if you love you are of God. All things are atoned for, all things are saved by love. [...] Love is such a priceless treasure that you can redeem the whole world by it, and expiate not only your own sins but the sins of others.

I have set my father up the blog.

Comments should also be available once again, too.

Rehearsal for the new play reading down in Sugar Land until 10, then drive-thru Whataburger, then chatting with Dave about the law schools and military recruiters (I think the situation is akin to paying taxes: they have to do it, but it doesn’t imply they endorse the actions), then trading blogrolls, then working on putting up the old links, fixing the RSS1, RSS2, and Atom feeds, and making it look nice. Now it’s 3am and I really need to get to sleep.

Ok, let’s see if this can stop the spam commenters. I’m going to require (sorry) that commentators on my blog be registered, luckily, this is a simple, painless, and quick procedure over at Typekey. this’ll let the legit stuff through, while blocking the junk about playing Texas Hold’em Online or expanding various parts of the anatomy with pills.

Plus, I can post pics!

Have been updating a some of the old pages to the new look, added a few poems, but have not been diligent about actually posting new blog entries for you to rag, er, comment upon. So, starting today, I shall endeavor to post at least once a day, even if it is something stupid. I’m also going to start a new category, Beliefs, that will catalog things I believe. Wheee.

Been playing with a private Movable Type blog for a few weeks now, and decided I liked it enough to move my main one to this. Don’t have the time or inclination now to move the old archives to the new format, but if there is demand (hah!) I will do so.

Nice thing about this format is that you can now post your comments on each article.

I’ll eventually get around to reformatting all the random pages, like my quotes page, but for now, they will remain in the old style.

Let me know what you think, won’t you?
