This weekend my poor benighted Kyocera Smartphone pretty much gave up the ghost. I had to contort it every which way for the headset to work (I’d given up on using it without the headset months ago). I had originally intended to hold out for the Sony Ericsson P900, but then finally admitted to myself I really didn’t need it, so I got the same phone I picked out for my parents, the T616, a little Bluetooth phone that syncs nicely with iSync on my PowerBook.

Sprint, my current provider, doesnt carry the T616, or any Bluetooth phones for that matter (they do have the Treo 600, but that has to have an add-on card for Bluetooth). Cingular did, and has rollover minutes to boot, so I jumped ship. It would have taken a few days to transfer my old cell number over, but since I tried to never give it out, I figured now big loss to ditch it.

I’ll miss having Vindigo on my phone, but I usually forgot to sync it up before I went out of town, and they were woefully behind in their restaurant updates for Houston; I had even written them asking if they needed help, but never heard back.
