Thwee Wittle Fishies

For some reason this morning I started singing The Three Little Fishies song. I remember some old sitcom had an episode where one character was trying to remember how this song went. Someone told a third person that this person was crazy, and when the first person suddenly remembered “And they thwam and they thwam all over the dam,” the third person was very convinced. I want to say it was on WKRP in Cincinnatti, with Les Nessman the third person, but I really don’t know…anybody have a better recollection?

  1. I’m sorry to say that I vividly remember exactly what you’re talking about. I’m even more ashamed to say that it was a “Three’s Company” episode and not something cool like “WKRP”. Terri (the roommate that replaced Chrissy after her sister also left) was a nurse who was dating a psychiatrist. He had a patient who wouldn’t talk to him unless he could remember that song, so he was trying to remember it. For some reason, Jack and Janet thought the doctor was actually a psycho, reinforced by his obsession with trying to remember the song. I believe the doctor was played by Jeffrey Tambor (sp?) late of “Arrested Development” and “The Larry Sanders Show” — How many brain cells do you think that is using up?
