My tenant, Gary White (no relation), penned this:
Joe
As I sit here and write,
I sometimes hear the cat food bowls clinking and tinkling
On your doorstep.
When I look out, expecting to see Festus chomping away
There are at least three spieces of birds chowing down
Consuming what, in a way, is their natural name sake. GW
Joe,
Not sure how to use your blog as I’m not a blogger, BUT!! I am an old Oil-o-sol benificiary like yourself. My grandad was issued a gallon of this stuff when he was burnt by a steam line in an oil refinery he worked at before I was born. We kept small bottles of it around in the family for years, sort of like contraband! Used it on anything and everything skin related – and yes it worked like magic. The family finally ran out, and we’ve been searchig for it ever since. I’ve downloaded the bottle picture from your Febuary posting and tried to enlarge it so as to read the fine print, but the resolution is not fine enough. Any chance you could send along the company info? I realize it is no doubt out of bussines, but I’d like it all the same. The refiniery grandad worked for became Mobil Oil, but at the time it was called “Sunoco” for the “Sun Oil Company”. We always assumed the Oil-o-sol had some referance to the company with the “Sun” and “Sol” connection.
Thanks in advance for the help.
