This evening Jerome, Shari, Anne, and I watched The Terminal. I really enjoyed it, but probably a bit more than the others…of course, I tend to be a bit more, uh, vocal, in my laughter. Anyway, it is loosely based upon the real-life travails of an Iranian refugee stranded in Paris.

Waiting for Spielberg:

Unlike most urban legends, the one about the Iranian exile stuck at the Paris airport for 15 years is true. Surrounded by a mountain of his possessions near the Paris Bye Bye lounge at Terminal 1 in Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Merhan Karimi Nasseri is still there after all these years — a celebrity homeless person.

Ok, let’s see if this can stop the spam commenters. I’m going to require (sorry) that commentators on my blog be registered, luckily, this is a simple, painless, and quick procedure over at Typekey. this’ll let the legit stuff through, while blocking the junk about playing Texas Hold’em Online or expanding various parts of the anatomy with pills.

Plus, I can post pics!

In attempting to remove some of the over *500* spam comments I received last night, I accidentally deleted a whole slew of good comments.

Will be switching comments off for the time being, then moving to a new method of posting that will not be as susceptible to the spambots..

That’s what Festus has. Took him to the Cat Doctor, Dr. Caroline Oeben, who also happens to sing in the choir at Christ the King Lutheran (where the Bach Choir is). She gave him a steroid shot, which should make him feel much better and allow him to eat without pain (he’s lost about a pound since the beginning of September). Long term, though, he may have to have his rear teeth removed.
