I have not kept up with this topic, and I doubt I will have the time to research it much, but here’s bottom line: I think that the planet is warming, but I don’t think humans are the primary cause; I think there are way too many processes we know way too little about to assume we are to blame. The temperature on Mars is rising and the Martian polar caps are shrinking; our presence there in the form of the rovers can hardly be the souce. Doesn’t it make sense to look to geologic and solar sources for the increase on our planet, as it seems to be on our red neighbor?

For those who are interested, here (in the extended section) is the scene Roy Johnson and I wrote and performed for the Maundy Thursday service at Bethany.

Rehearsal for the new play reading down in Sugar Land until 10, then drive-thru Whataburger, then chatting with Dave about the law schools and military recruiters (I think the situation is akin to paying taxes: they have to do it, but it doesn’t imply they endorse the actions), then trading blogrolls, then working on putting up the old links, fixing the RSS1, RSS2, and Atom feeds, and making it look nice. Now it’s 3am and I really need to get to sleep.
One of my friends from the LBJ School, Dan Benavides, took his life last week. Dan was an incredibly kind and thoughtful man. We had a lot of fun in Austin playing racquetball and poker and joking in the Hobby/Keel PRP. Dan was an Assistant DA in Dallas, and was making a difference.
He called me the week before, and we played phone tag, but he never said what was wrong…just asked me to pray for him.
I did, and I am. I don’t know what was torturing him…I just know that he didn’t have to go to this extreme.
To everyone: please, please, please!!!! If you ever think about hurting yourself, call me or someone else before acting. I beg of you.
And say a prayer for Dan.
