Last November, Joe Rawley and I installed a bunch of soffit vents and an electric vent fan in my attic. Tested the thermostat, and all was fine and dandy, so I set it 90˚ and waited for lower electric bills this summer. Well, that didn’t happen, so I finally got around to climbing up into the attic last week and discovered that the fan was not working. Determined today that the thermostat on it was fine, and that it was the motor that had died. Managed to luck out and find a replacement motor at Home Depot, and I now once again have an properly vented attic. Whee!
