Ever since moving to Buell Court I have been plagued by raccoons and possums eating the food I leave out for the cats. For some time I’ve been meaning to get a live trap to catch this critters and remove them to the wilds of Memorial Park and out from living under my house. This week while helping Glenn Larratt fetch his lawnmower I saw that he had a trap in his garage. I asked if I could borrow it, and he just gave it to me. Took it home and that night eagerly set it up. At 6 the next morning I heard something in the cage: Festus. Kept him inside last night, made sure Arminius had been fed, and set it up again. Around 12:30 I heard the trap engage, and go downstairs to find Arminius in it, the little piglet. Let him loose, and set it up again. This morning was rewarded to find a pretty large possum inside. Took it out to Memorial Park, where it initially was loathe to leave the cage, but eventually decided that hanging on while I banged on the side was not the best place to be, and it scampered off into the woods.
