God and China
In an OpEd piece in this morning’s New York Times, Nicholas Kristoff describes how in many parts of China Christians are still tortured and murdered.
I hope that if I were ever tested in the way Ms. Ma Yuqin was, I could show the same fortitude and devotion.
It’s Ronald’s Fault
Some shyster has filed a lawsuit against McDonald’s for causing obesity in several teenagers. Said the mother of one of the plaintiffs, “[I had] always
believed McDonald’s was healthy for my son.”
In a word, phooey. While I feel sorry for these kids for having idiots for parents, McDonald’s is not to blame for their physical woes. I hope this suit gets
thrown out so fast it’ll make your head spin…but it won’t.
It dawns on me that I haven’t mentioned to many folks where I am singing currently. I’m singing the role ot l’Ufficiale (one whole word!) in Madama
Butterfly with Opera in the Heights through November 23. On Sunday, December 1, at 5pm I’ll be singing the bass
solo in Bach’s Magnificat with the Bach Choir at Christ the King Lutheran Church in the Rice Village,
Greenbriar at Rice. Throughout December, I’ll be singing in a Victorian Christmas Quartet with Kitty Karn and others. If
you’d like us to sing at your event, let me know.
